Film Director, Set and Costume Designer
Born 1965 in Munich, Germany
Combining twenty years of experience in set design (Berlin, Hamburg, Cairo, Tel Aviv, Houston and Washington DC) and documentary film making ("Mahlermania", "Porgy and Me", "Alphonse Mucha – Art Nouveau Visionary") with new forms of media, Susanna Boehm has been given the opportunity to lecture in museums and universities, as well as leading workshops and tutoring bachelor theses in Berlin, Munich, London, Istanbul.
Since the summer of 2000 Boehm has been head of the Art Department for the Seebühne of the renowned Bregenz Opera Festival in Austria. Furthermore, she originates her own set designs (for example "Transmaghreb" and "Cosí fan tutte" (2015), both in Bregenz) and art documentaries for Arte-TV.
Due to her interest in new forms of media, Boehm successfully conceived a Graphic Novel App for Mozart's "The Magic Flute". For numerous orchestras and opera houses, she developed strategies for social media, including conceptualizing and filming their promotional clips.
